Services - Cholesterol Checking

Cholesterol is a natural fatty substance produced by your body. Above the accepted levels it increases your risk of heart problems. We can test for cholesterol in about 5 minutes at the pharmacy.

Your results will be printed out and if necessary we will make recommendations about your diet or refer you to your GP.

There are different types of cholesterol, the so called good and bad cholesterol - HDL and LDL. LDL cholesterol is the type of cholesterol that clogs blood vessels and HDL is the type of cholesterol that helps unclog blood vessels.

Often diet and lifestyle changes can reduce cholesterol but this is not always the case. All fat is not bad. Certain fats are fine and necessary but others are best avoided.
