Asthma is a disorder affecting the airways of the lungs. People with asthma have very sensitive airways that narrow in response to certain "triggers", leading to difficulty in breathing. The airway narrowing is caused by inflammation and swelling of the airway lining, the tightening of the airway muscles, and the production of excess mucus. This results in a reduced airflow in and out of the lungs.

Even if you have asthma for many years and feel you are on top of it, it may be worthwhile to have an Asthma Check at the pharmacy.

We sit down with you, ensure you understand your medications, how best to use and get the best results. We give you an asthma quiz which is a standard quiz that gives a score your asthma control.

We use a peak flow meter to test your breathing as often you don't realise your lung function is poor without this test.
